Instagram Reel Downloader

Paste a public Instagram Reel link and get a download link. Free, no sign-up, works in the browser on iPhone, Android and desktop. Only download content you have the right to use.

01

Copy the Reel link

Open a public Reel in Instagram, tap Share, then Copy link.

02

Paste it here

Your link is sent to our server, which asks a third-party media service to look up that one public Reel. No Instagram login is involved.

03

Download or save

Tap Download video to save the file, or Save to Photos on iPhone. The video passes through ReelGrab's server only while it is delivered to you. We don't keep a copy.

Instagram Reel downloader: what ReelGrab does

ReelGrab turns a public Instagram Reel link into a video link you can save. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and no password to share. It runs in any modern browser, though a server and a third-party service do the lookup (details below).

How do I download an Instagram Reel?

Copy the Reel's link from Instagram, paste it into the box above, press Get download link, then tap Download video (or Save to Photos on iPhone) to keep the file. Lookups usually take a few seconds but can take up to about 40 seconds.

Do I need an app or an Instagram account?

No app and no Instagram login. You only need the link of a public Reel. Platform-specific steps: iPhone guide and Android guide.

Which Reels can be downloaded?

Public Reels only. Private accounts, deleted posts, and some restricted Reels will fail, and so can links that aren't Reel links. See why a Reel won't download.

What happens to the link I paste?

Your browser sends the URL to ReelGrab's server, which forwards it to a third-party media-processing service (Apify). That service returns a temporary video link. When you tap Download video, the file is passed through our server to your browser. ReelGrab doesn't store or host the video. The Privacy page covers what is and isn't recorded.

Is it okay to download and reuse Reels?

Reels belong to their creators. Saving a copy for personal viewing is different from reposting it. Reuse content only if you made it or have permission, and credit the creator where appropriate.

FAQ

Can I download any Reel?

No. Private accounts, deleted posts, restricted Reels and unsupported links can fail. ReelGrab only works with public Reels, and even then the media service can occasionally fail.

Can I download a private Instagram Reel?

No. ReelGrab never asks for your Instagram login and can't access private content.

Is it free? Do I need an account or app?

It's free to use, with no registration, no Instagram login and nothing to install.

Where is my downloaded Reel?

It's saved by your browser, not by ReelGrab. On iPhone it's usually in the Files app under Downloads; on Android, in your Downloads folder. See the iPhone and Android guides.

Does ReelGrab store my videos?

ReelGrab doesn't store videos on its own servers. The file is passed through our server while your browser downloads it, and no copy is kept. The submitted URL passes through our server and a media-processing service; see the Privacy page.

Why did my Reel fail to download?

Usual causes are a private or deleted Reel, a link that isn't a Reel link, or a temporary problem with the media service. Work through the troubleshooting guide.

Can I repost a downloaded Reel?

Only if you own it or have the creator's permission. Downloading does not transfer copyright.

Is ReelGrab affiliated with Instagram?

No. ReelGrab is an independent tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by Instagram or Meta. See About.
